tentacles -ATC

Good day,

This is my entry to this fortnight's Octopode Factory Challenge which is circles. I have used Willow from Octopde Factory as my main image, the cheeky tentacles belong to Smudgetastic digis. I coloured the back ground with pan pastels, then stamped Tim Holtz circles over the top, then went back with a light dusting of pan pastels to bring out the circles. Willow and the tentacles were coloured with water colour pencils - I then played with my sakura pen again. The red is from my new distress ink marker which ran a bit when I sprayed the image with cheap hair spray to set the pastels - one could say that it was upset, distressed  almost...

Blackbird - smudge fest

Evening,

It is day 6 of Smudgefest and today's challenge is an ATC based on the below Beatles song. I chose the line "take these sunken eyes and learn to see." The main image is from smeared ink, he looks so sad I thought it fitted. I masked the central image and then used distress inks on the background and a Tim Holtz stamp. I then sprayed a mister to give a stipple effect. Sad teddy coloured with flexi markers.

Blackbird - Beatles
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

you know how when you should be doing something you do something else? well here is the first ATC. Main image lil grumpies bottoms up.

Monster Love machine

Dearest minions,

Have had an interesting and challenging week. I thought this monster face from Smudgetastic digis is apt as I have one very patronising idiot to cope with, I now have one fat frog who was wishing he hadn't been patronising. This is my entry to Smudgy antics (triple threat) who asked us to use 3 stamps, I have used monster face 3 by Smudgetastic digis and their skull face (in his eyes, awww the look of emo lurve) and a wonderful freebie heart and sentiment from the hobby room.

This week's Less is more is a colour challenge of blue and green so he can sit there being loved up, Macabre Monday are having a freakers for all, I bet you he starts boring the other entries with tales of why his beloved is so wonderful (very Sam from season 2 of Games of Thrones.)

The digis were printed straight on to the card, I then shaded them with water colour pencils, I blended the colours using a sakura koi water pen which I have been using all afternoon with great abandon.

Smudgetastic challenge DT - wahooo!

Dearest Minions,

I am really proud to say that I am on the Smudgetastic design team. So without further waffle here is my first design team piece, the challenge for August is vintage green. I used the the Norman digi by Smudgestastic and over layed it onto a free vintage image of some Victorian children. I then over layed some ageing gubbins over the top.

I printed the image sponged distress inks and copics on top, put a white highlight in their eyes, then I sand papered the surface and added the dictionary quote.I really like the end of the quote "a unit of a crime syndicate."

This image is inspired by the green children of Woolpit , a local legend and reason for not eating peas, ever. I really the green buggers and will pick them out of any meal including Samosas.

I would like to enter this into
Macabre Monday challenge -Freakers free for all
Jackson Digital express- anything goes
LEJ Designs - magic and mystical
Twisted Tuesday - free for all
because I can.
